My name is Todd Stuewer. I have been a hemodialysis patient since January, 2009. In May, 2010 I began training on the use of the NxStage System One, and the Pureflow units. Since June 1, 2010 I have been doing home hemodialysis six times per week.
I have taken the NxStage unit in my SUV on vacation and have continued my usual diaysis schedule while in hotels, friend’s homes, anywhere with 110 volt power.
My blood levels for potassium and phosphorus are normal and I have much more energy as a result of dialyzing more often, for a shorter run time using the NxStage equipment.
I have had great results with NxStage and highly recommend that anyone currently “enduring” in-center modialysis consider using this equipment. My results have been fantastic, and I hear stories from my hemodialysis nurse that others’ using this equipment also share my success.
In this blog I have added pages about using the NxStage equipment, information on problems I have had with my fistula, care of my fistula, my experiences and things I have learned from dialyzing at home for almost five years.
